US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in LA this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, as reported by reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a announcement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.

His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.

The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
