Loyal followers of the pop star are calling for that a person who leaped a barricade and grabbed the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A viral video shows the individual from Australia pushing past photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a event pathway flanked by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was set to attend court on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was charged.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account includes recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney concert in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the area last winter.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is clearly a punishable act," commented an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Express Concern Over Ariana's Well-being

Several followers blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the finale of her 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented a further message on Instagram.

Some fans also faulted guards at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while others demanded online networks to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Reaction and Event Details

In clips spreading on the internet, Grande appeared shocked when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Hundreds of fans had congregated in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore venue, including a number who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it started.

The film, to be premiered on November 21, is the second of a two-part adaptation of the well-known stage musical Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected relationship between two contrasting characters.

The show itself is a adaptation of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful film of the previous year in the UK, and earned a dozen Academy Award nods, winning a pair for best costume and production design.
