GOP state leaders in multiple US states have positioned National Guard troops on readiness in anticipation of widespread gatherings resisting Donald Trump and his agenda.

Organizers of the "Anti-Authoritarian" initiative announced that assemblies are planned at over 2,500 sites across the nation.
As per demonstration coordinators, the last Anti-Authoritarian event in June brought out over five million attendees protesting Trump's political approach.
Local Actions
Governors in the Lone Star State and the Old Dominion have officially mobilized their local National Guard forces, though the degree of defense presence remains unknown.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott cited the "organized antifa-linked rally" as reasoning for activating local forces.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin correspondingly ordered mobilization of the state's National Guard contingent.
Ideological Responses
Demonstration coordinators described the gatherings as challenge to Trump's "authoritarianism."
"The administration believes his power is absolute," organizers claim on their digital presence.
"But in this country, we oppose kings and we will not retreat against disorder, corruption, and harshness."
Several conservatives have dubbed the demonstrations as "Hate America" events.
Kansas Senator Roger Marshall reportedly remarked before the demonstrations: "We'll have to get the National Guard."
"Ideally it'll be peaceful. I doubt it," he added.
Democratic Position
Opposition figures criticized the deployment of military troops.
Texas Democrat Gene Wu argued: "Sending equipped military personnel to suppress non-violent rallies is what dictators and tyrants do — and Greg Abbott just proved he's one of them."
